Anyone walking into Global Connection’s Sea Shells Beach Club in Daytona Beach is greeted by ocean views, a friendly staff and above all, a clean resort.
The cozy-looking exterior of Sea Shells belies the beautiful, clean and spacious accommodations inside. But keeping a resort clean is no small task.
Chaka Clark, at Sea Shells Beach Cluber, takes this task seriously – so seriously she snagged the attention of TripAdvisor contributor Linda Williamson with her exceptional attitude and attention to detail.
“We had a wonderful stay at Sea Shells, and received exemplary service from Chaka,” Williamson said.
“Upon opening the door of our room on our first morning, [Chaka] happened to be outside and welcomed us with a warm smile and introduced herself. It was so nice to be greeted in such a friendly way. From that moment on, we were truly appreciated and well looked after. Our room was always clean and perfect. The front-office staff was also pleasant and friendly.”
Williamson was so impressed she presented Clark with a Trip Advisor Excellent Service Pin, of which she says she carries a limited stash to give to “those that truly impress me.”
Clark has worked at Sea Shells for three and a half years, a job to which she has brought her prior experience cleaning private residences.
“I just like to clean,” Clark said. “I’m also in this job because I love to meet and interact with people. I think it’s very important to be polite, courteous and ensure that guest rooms are perfectly and consistently clean.”
Sea Shells Beach Club is no stranger to awards. They were recently named among TripAdvisors 2014 Certificate of Excellence winners, an honor determined by traveler reviews and ratings.
The award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. Establishments awarded the Certificate of Excellence represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website.
Sea Shells Beach Club General Manager Brooke Maynard says that’s just the way they do business.
“Our ultimate goal is to make every customer experience a positive one,” Maynard said. “We have a great, energetic staff and we pride ourselves on the fact that all of our customers can count on consistently friendly service and clean accommodations, every day.”
